Translation: Hello. We have been studying money and the economy for a couple weeks. I imagine that you have some ideas of how and when you spend your money. In this activity, there are 3 pictures with different questions about the topic we are studying in class. You must choose 1 picture and record your answers to the questions for that particular picture.
Picture 1/Title page Where do you get your money? Do you have a job or do your parents give you money when you need it? Do you prefer to spend or save your money and why?
Picture 2/“Forum europea” When you think about how you are going to earn a living, do you think about the salary or the job itself and why? Are your ideas based on your likes or on what is happening in the economy now?
Picture 3/ “Querido Dinero” Explain the main idea of this letter. Do you agree with the idea of a society that does not use money and why?
Admin:Not enough time to implement properly and meet all the state standards. (BH)
Start with small IMP projects that are manageble for teachers and students. Set clear due dates to stay on track.
Admin:Only have 4 computers in the classroom to use and both computer labs are booked for the rest of the year. (BH)
Book computer labs early, speak with the teachers who sign them out for months at a time and see if you can have it for your project. Sign out the laptop carts (COWS). Allow students to bring their own device.
Admin: Students not using time wisely. (AA)
Give the students a timeline and checklist for them to follow. Have frequent checks by the teacher.
Admin: Too many steps, IMP is too complicated. (AA)
Simplify the project. Have a colleague test the IMP and suggest ways to consolidate steps.
Tech: Technical difficulties with the websites, possibly crashing. (BH)
Check websites before class, make sure you have IT support phone extension on hand, and have alternative activity ready in case it cannot get resolved.
Tech: Only have 4 computers in the classroom. (BH)
If computer labs are not available, ask other teachers if you can send a group of students to use their computers. (Many teachers do this in our building).
Tech: Websites that are blocked by school filter. (AA)
Email tech dept. early and see if they can unblock websites for your project. Use web based tools that students can access from home.
Tech: Laptop carts do not have enough working computers for all students in class. (AA)
Sign out a computer lab for the class.
Allow students to bring their own device.
